Brief description of the project

Creating health engineering landfills according to new methods and standards in developed countries with priority on environmental issues is necessary to prevent pollution spread and environmental issues such as leachate management, control, emissions, and so on. Due to the daily production of 2,000 tons of waste in Mashhad and the production of greenhouse gases and leachate from landfills, and it’s very destructive effects basic and principled actions are required in the field of landfills engineering. Mashhad Municipality Waste Management Organization in 1999 needs to implement engineering and sanitary landfill by implementing liners and protective sheets of geomembrane and geotextile along with mechanized leachate collection system through piping and slope of the area. Within the intended area, 9 hectares are considered for burial about 3 years of normal waste. Construction of an engineering and sanitary landfill leachate collection pond with a volume of approximately 40,000 cubic meters is necessary for sanitary engineering landfills. The project was located at 35 km of Mashhad-Miami road in Industrial Complex No. 22, landfill of Mashhad Municipality Waste Management Organization.

Targets:

  • Preventing environmental pollution
  • Improving the quality level of services – burying health engineering in a principled and standard way
  • Preservation of available resources and facilities and optimal use
