Brief description of the project
After acquiring the necessary technical knowledge, for the first time on Siri Island, 5 tons of soil contaminated with oil sludge was cleaned with the help of native bacteria. Finally, by planting a suitable plant, the infected area became a green space. In the second project, advanced biopile technology was used for biological cleaning of drilling ponds in Khangiran area, due to the very high volume of contaminated soil (more than 10 thousand tons) and space constraints. Also, in the vicinity of Gavozard village (Gachsaran oil and gas exploitation area), a pilot in the form of biopile (with inactive aeration) was implemented to clean 300 tons of contaminated soil due to pipeline breakage. Also, relying on the obtained capability, the groundwater treatment project in Assaluyeh region was implemented using biological processes and was selected as the top green project in the evaluation of the European Green Management Association. In this process, biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons is done with the help of native microorganisms to reach the environmental standards. This process practically recycles the soil and returns it to nature and it has a certain environmental and economic superiority over other physical and chemical methods.
